We love Dancing with the Stars because it’s an awkward combination of sports and celebrity. And tonight, we proved that as Christian Delafuente pulled up lame with an arm injury despite not really doing anything athletic. Awesome.
Anything can happen on live television, and sometimes it’s just plain painful. That’s the lesson Cristian De La Fuente learned on Monday’s “Dancing With The Stars” when he got a severe cramp in his arm during his second dance of the night. The Chilean actor gripped his arm in obvious pain towards the end of his hip-shaking samba. He did his best to complete the dance, but was unable to hold on to his partner, Cheryl Burke, as she crumpled to the floor in the routine’s final move.
De La Fuente insisted he was ready to hear the judges’ comments immediately after the couple finished, but the producers cut to a commercial so an EMT could look at his arm. After the break, he held an ice pack to his arm as he heard the judges’ scores.The actor ended the evening in last place at 46, with a 25 for his first number, the Viennese waltz, and 21 for the samba.

I’m not sure. It was kind of hard to tell when I saw it last night. Obviously he was in pain and uncomfortable with the attention. I felt really bad for him. How awful. I hope he doesn’t get eliminated over it.
